Incredible family-owned Italian restaurant that is worth the 20-minute drive. Reservations accepted and are recommended for dinners - seating is limited. Our favorites include antipasto salad, Italian wedding soup, and calzones, although everything we've tried has been terrific. Beer on tap. Prices are very moderate and portions sizes are large. It's a don't-miss hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. Service has always been excellent.

Everything about this place says authentic southern slow-cooked bbq. Owner is a retired Navy officer who brought his Mississippi bbq skills to Tucson. Tri-tip, brisket, and 1/2 lb smoked burgers, and pulled pork are some of our favorites. They are constantly adding items to their menu, such as a superb key lime pie. Restaurant is spacious, about 20 minutes away, and family owned. Best bbq in Tucson by far.

Superb Mexican market, deli, and butcher shop with very limited seating but with loads of food options. Pricing is very reasonable. Super clean, excellent quality, and great for take out. Our favorites include the marinated meats (skirt steak, marinated pork) for grilling, fresh tortillas and salsas, carnitas, chorizo burrito, and Mr. Toro burro (carne asada). They will aslo grill their meats for you on the spot! Even better, it's about 5 minutes away.

Our favorite sushi spot in town, although you will need 25 minutes to get there. The Treasure Island appetizer is a must. Everything is top quality sushi - yes, even in the desert. Great for special occasions or business meals. Moderately priced for sushi and they have good lunch specials. Miso soup and edamame are great staples.

Great smooth shaved ice with a nearly endless selection of flavors. Less sweet than Eegees and a bit more expensive but still worth the 20-minute drive for the amazing taste and creamy smooth shaved ice.

Inside museum has dozens of different planes and interactive stations for education. Great place for the kids and family. Outdoor plane displays are extensive and one of the best in the country. They also offer guided tours of the Boneyard across the street in an air-conditioned bus. Anyone remotely interested in aviation history or planes will not want to miss this place. Cafeteria inside is a plus. Best time to go is Oct-May or early mornings during the summer, if you plane on spending much time on the outside aircraft on display. 2-day passes are available and, yes, it's that extensive if you want to spend the time really diving in.

While primarily used for cycling (leisure or sport), it is also great for running, jogging, or walking. Not advisable if rain is expected due to closed underpasses.
