Arts & Culture
If you are interested in Scandinavian architecture, the Rovaniemi City Library is a must-see. The beautiful building, designed by architect Alvar Aalto, was completed in 1965. Aalto (1898-1976) enjoyed an exceptionally rich and varied career as an architect and designer, both at home in Finland and abroad.
The City Library is one of the three buildings in the Rovaniemi Administrative and Cultural Centre, all of which were designed by Aalto. The other two buildings are the Town Hall and the Lappia House (theater, concert hall and event centre). Aalto has also designed the original Rovaniemi town plan.

The church yard with its soldier's grave is one of the most beautiful places in Rovaniemi.
