One of my favourite walks; check the guidebook at the house for details. It is a 6 hour return journey but well worth it. Go with someone and take a picnic.

Walk the lush Furber Steps down the cliff face, visit the coal mines at the bottom, walk through the rainforest listening out for the lyrebirds and ride the steep railway back to the top.

An astonishing look out that rivals the Three Sisters, if only because there are hardly any crowds. Get a taxi if you don't have a car. It's worth it!

I think this is probably the best Thai food in Katoomba. The restaurant itself is quite small and it does get busy. My recommendation is takeout. There is a menu on my fridge door.

Great little bar and pizza joint that's always busy on the weekend. They do a great selection of gourmet pizzas. The staff are very friendly and sometimes have live music.
