Attempt the longest known canyon in the southwest as a day trip, or walk the entire 20 miles over the course of four days. The easiest trailhead for a day hike is the Wire-Pass trailhead. Do NOT hike this canyon if there’s any slight chance of precipitation. All slot canyons are inherently dangerous for flash flood potential. This hike requires plenty of preparation and supplies.

This is an easy 1.9 mile out and back trail located near Orderville, UT. See the majestic red and white canyon walls that gradually narrow and lead to a short, colorful, slot canyon for about 100 yards before a dry fall stops progress.

Exciting narrow passages in the upper reaches of Lick Wash give way to a wider canyon below, embraced by the bold White Cliffs of Navajo Sandstone studded with tall pines, rising 600 to 800 feet to the mesa rims above. You’ll most likely have this dry wash to yourself or pass very few people- it’s not as well known as the other hikes in the area!
