This park is just a 15 minute drive from the house. Here you can view massive trees (600-year-old Douglas fir and western red cedar trees), waterfalls, animals and a beautiful river. The trails range from easy and wheelchair accessible, to strenuous. If you like a good work out, I recommend hiking Mt Finlayson. It's very steep, but you'll find rewarding views of greater Victoria at the top.

Esquimalt Lagoon is a 10 minute drive from the house and a great place for a walk or picnic. The beach is equipped with public, flush toilets, picnic tables and benches, outhouses, and garbage cans. Definitely a must see, you have views of Esquimalt's harbour and the Olympic mountains.
