Exeter has a lovely Cathedral, It is a university city with fantastic architecture and lots of lovely shops and great restaurants definitely worth a visit. A 35-40 min car ride or you could get on a train from Torquay to Exeter taking in a lovely scenic train journey along the coastline.

Beautiful beach with some surfing weather dependant and at Dawlish see the famous black swans and sit in one of the cafes and watch the world go by.
