PEI doesn't have plastic shopping bags at stores, so if you're looking to save a few dollars during your stay and be a bit more eco friendly I'd recommend packing your own shopping bags. Some places offer paper bags for purchase, usually at a cost of 15 cents or more, and some sell reusable bags too.

PEI has Amish populations in some areas of the Island. There are a few communities in this area.
You may see a horse and buggy on the highway, just slow down and pass them when the way is clear. Also, large groups of children walk on the highways to and from their schools, so drive with caution when passing them.
