Rent from Darling's Resort or Siltcoos Kayak Rentals and paddle from the Westlake Boat Ramp to the Pacific and back. You need to choose a day with very little wind or the length of your trip will double! In addition, watch the tides. Once you portage the dam the river fluctuates with the tide. Low tide may just be too low to paddle all the way to the ocean.
You are guaranteed to see an eagle, heron, and or/an otter. Very easy paddle.
