Kandy is a major city in Sri Lanka located in the Central Province. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea.

Sightseeing
Sigiriya Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress known for its massive column of rock that reaches nearly 200 meters high. The site dates back to the reign of King Kasyapa (477-495 AD), who chose this site as his new capital. He decorated the walls with frescoes, and built an impressive palace right on top of the rock column, accessible only through the mouth of an enormous carved lion.

is a museum of the Temple of the Tooth. It is located on the first and the second floors wing of the Temple of the Tooth
visit between 8.00 AM and 8:00 PM.

At Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
All visitors to the temple should be clad in long trousers / skirts that cover their legs. If any visit in short skirts or trousers, sarongs will be given to be worn during the visit. As in all Buddhist shrines footwear and headwear should be removed before entering.
