Prestwick has a great mix of shopping on and around the Main street, with fantastic clothing, gifts and homewares available. Prestwick is a commuter town of nearly 15000, with a strong business and community sector. The town recently received the accolade of top Scottish town, and second within the UK in the Government's Great British High Street Awards.

Prestwick has a 1-mile-long (1.5-kilometre) esplanade to enjoy an easy walk alongside Prestwick Bay, part of the Firth of Clyde. It has two children's playgrounds. At the north end Kid'zplay, an indoor activity centre, can be found next to the large play-area that was formerly a large open air swimming pool. Parallel to the esplanade is a line of large houses overlooking Arran.

The town also offers a wealth of charming independent cafés, as well as a range of unique boutiques and shops. Known as a golfing hotspot, Troon is home to an incredible seven courses including Royal Troon, which regularly hosts the famous Open Championship. Yachting enthusiasts can take advantage of the facilities at the Yacht Haven, one of the Clyde's leading sailing centres, and sports fans can head to the beach for windsurfing, kitesurfing and more.

Rozelle House Museum & Galleries is open all year Monday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm, Sunday: 12noon - 5pm. The Maclaurin Gallery has the same opening hours. Rozelle Tea Room is open from 9am. The park is used every Saturday for a Park Run, and hosts football and rugby training and tournaments, orienteering, dog agility competitions, and music festivals throughout the year. Regular buses run between Ayr and Rozelle entrance, or to The Loaning on the east side of the Park, with short walks from the bus stops to Rozelle House. Rozelle ponds have scenic walks around them. You can also find the Remembrance Woodland, which features wood carvings to commemorate the First World War.
