Downtown Durango, especially Main Ave is the very heart of Durango. It is safe, inviting, and memorable place for everyone. You will find great local restaurants and shops that are always supported by the community. Just park somewhere close in town (parking is free after 6pm weekdays and all day during the weekends) and go for a walk.....you will LOVE it!

If you go driving on County Road 250 towards Purgatory, you might see some elks and other wildlife, because they like to hang out by the Animas River and you can also stop by Bakers Bridge.

Ski/snowboard in the winter, bike/drive/hike in the summer time. This place is good for everyone. La Plata County population goes mushroom hunting there in July-August. Views are breathtaking, forest is rich!
