The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic performing arts centre in the world. Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the building was formally opened on 20 October 1973.
The building and its surrounds occupy the whole of Bennelong Point on Sydney Harbour, between Sydney Cove and Farm Cove, adjacent to the Sydney central business district and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and close by the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Harbour View Hotel used to sit where the Harbour Bridge now sits. Locals were asked to vacate their homes when the bridge was being built, and were most upset when their local pub had to get demolished. It moved 50m over and maintained its name. Even though the Harbour View Hotel doesn’t have a view of the harbour anymore, it has a glorious and unique view of the Harbour Bridge.
