Very classy joint. Delicious food. Exquisitely presented by charming staff in a lovely environment. Despite the very high quality of food here they do a fantastic midweek lunch for a very reasonable price per head.

The Palace, built by the Stuart kings, was brought to its full Renaissance glory by James V in the early 16th century. Mary, Queen of Scots spent happy days here hunting and playing royal tennis. The Palace is surrounded by a beautiful garden and has a lovely gift shop.

12 miles of Loch side trail passing RSPB Vane Farm and Loch Leven's Larder shop and restaurant. Great bird spotting sites and mountain bike trail. I saw a kingfisher here!
