Fern Cottage is a the historic 30 room house, 4-acre estate that belonged to Joseph and Zipporah Russ. Architect/ Builder George Fairfield designed Fern Cottage for the cattle-ranching family and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The home is a slice of Humboldt and Eel river history with a collection of Victorian era furnishings and artifacts. Fern Cottage and its grounds are open:
Thursday- Saturday 11-3pm
The tours will start on the hour:
11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.
Cost is $10 for adults, $8 for 62 and over and children under age 18 free.
