1920 Highway 73The closest grocery and automotive store is Walmart in Atchison approx 16 min north on 73 hwy. This is not a full SUPER Walmart, but on a smaller scale. A Subway is inside and a deli, too. (Of course, we suggest locally owned smaller eateries for a great Midwestern experience!
A very unique stained glass window shop. The artisan, Mike, creates and repairs stained glass treasures.... His work is amazing and he has helped us restore windows for the retreat property. warning; he is a smoker and his store smells like it! Look past that and he talent is a rare treasure!! He is a master in one of a kind creations that he ships all over the globe!

A great locally owned bike shop and a coffee shop inside!! If you, or someone you know, like bicycling, make sure to stop in to see Brennan and his team!!! We are part of the Santa fee Bicycling Team/Club. Brennan also has bikes for rent and he will deliver them to Hidden Valley!! You arrange for rental and delivery. Glad to help make this happen and suggest trails in the area. Or hiking trails are only for hiking; no bikes. Again, let Brennan and his team know where you are staying.

take a historic tour of Fort Leavenworth! You will need to go through the visitor's center for a background check. It usually takes about 30 min, , but some guests have said shorter and longer times. It will be worth it! Touring the Fort takes you to another place! really, you will think you have entered a village far away! make sure to see the Buffalo Soldier's monument and use the self guided drive through tour guide. If you want a guided tour, contact the Leavenworth Visitor's Center in advance. (Fee varies approx $25 /person)

The Leavenworth Church plant started about the same time we moved to the area in 2016. It is a welcoming church with multiple services on Sunday morning. This is not your grandmother's church! Expect live upbeat music and a shorter Christ centered message.
