Amazing seaside town that juts into the sea. The views are spectacular.
European Cultural Capital 2019. A wonderfully preserved ancient town with stunning views everywhere. It is where they filmed Passion of the Christ and the latest Ben Hur. Take a day trip and have a good meal there as well. Great during the day or night.

Unisco World Heritage site. Featured on the back of the Euro penny as well. Great views from the top, and the castle is featured in the lore of the knights templar. For movie buffs, they also filmed scenes from Wonder Woman here.

Honestly, we don't usually recommend this town often. While many do enjoy it and it is very iconic of the area, there is not much to see. And every one of the trulli is a tourist shop selling magets. So very Disneyland.

Honestly, we don't usually recommend this town often. While many do enjoy it and it is very iconic of the area, there is not much to see. And every one of the trulli is a tourist shop selling magets. So very Disneyland.
It is primarily known for the Battle of Cannae, in which the numerically superior Roman army suffered a disastrous defeat by Hannibal in 216 BC during the Punic Wars.
The ruins have hardly been excavated and you will probably be the only tourists there, but the views are amazing. It’s a gem in history and a perfect stop near one of our favorite restaurants Antichi Sapori.
