The Loxahatchee River, Florida's first federally designated Wild and Scenic River, runs through the park. Rent a canoe or Kayak and discover our beautiful, natural waterways and forests.

Sit on the sandy beach and watch the ICW water traffic maybe even glimpse a 100 foot yacht cruising by. Peaceful escape with room for the kids to run and not disturb anyone.
Grab the shuttle boat for a trip to the famous Peanut Island, the island created by Joe Kennedy and where the Kennedys' constructed their Atomic Bomb Shelter. Worth the ride and walk on the sandy beach around the Island. A hang out for the local boating crowd. half the island is underwater at high tide, but on a low tide you can walk across the top of the water and maybe even find a star fish or "price shell" to keep to remember your visit. Bring drinks and picnic with you. Snorkel area is on the east side of the island and is safe for children.
