Super Casual Bobby D's is right next to the main city parking area in Jerome so pretty easy to get to! This is an authentic smokehouse BBQ place and the oldest operating dining facility in AZ! The history of the place is it was in the old Jerome opium den and still has a lot of the old features. The deck seating has great views of the Verde Valley as well!

So there is a lot of controversy about Canyon Breeze on Yelp about being touristy etc. It has a fantastic patio view of the red rocks and is in the main tourist area, but I always bring friends and family coming to Sedona for the first time to this restaurant. It has been consistently good for us, impressive view it is a little pricey to reflect the desirable location so something to keep in mind. Restrooms are clean and it is relaxing. It is not fine dining but provides a consistent experience.

Canyon Breeze Restaurant

Want to get out for an adults night on the town? This is the only casino in the area, it has a bar, restaurants and typical Arizona Casino type experience. If you decide to eat, the buffet is so/so but edible, great place to go for people watching and relaxing fun evening.

Red Rock Crossing at Crescent Moon Ranch is a great local hike at base of Chapel Rock/ Oak Creek. Headi North on 89A turn right on Red Rock Crossing Rd and follow signs!. Great to see the old time Sedona Ranch Style living, the Vortex, Picnic area, Hiking, & swimming holes all rolled into one. For a more private beach, make the 40 min walk to Buddha Beach which is right at the base of Chapel Rock, you will feel a stronger vortex vibe here with lots of carin's (stacked rocks). In warmer months make sure you arrive early as the park fills up fast and there will be restricted access to cars when full. If you look close in the trees you maybe able to spot a Chuckwalla (Iguana Family).

Slide Rock is a must do if you have kids but be prepared for the line of traffic going from and too and you have to be organized and get there early otherwise there is a long wait. Its just so worth it for all with the sliding red rocks, the cool fresh Oak Creek Mountain Water etc. Beautiful views and close trees make this entire drive from Sedona to Flagstaff amazing! If you make it an early day, take the drive up to Flagstaff for lunch or dinner.

Slide Rock State Park
6871 AZ-89ASlide Rock is a must do if you have kids but be prepared for the line of traffic going from and too and you have to be organized and get there early otherwise there is a long wait. Its just so worth it for all with the sliding red rocks, the cool fresh Oak Creek Mountain Water etc. Beautiful views and close trees make this entire drive from Sedona to Flagstaff amazing! If you make it an early day, take the drive up to Flagstaff for lunch or dinner.

Amazing rock/cinder cone formations Volcanic "Hoo Doos" . This is seriously like you went to mars for the day. The hike is only 1.5 miles, you come to a ladder, definitely climb the ladder as the amazing site of the Hoo Doos is at the top, Bring a lot of water and snacks there is nothing right there except you and nature! This hike is fairly level and good for kids, not small toddlers. Anyone who can climib a ladder should be able to enjoy the main site at the end as well.
The Fatman's loop is a really pretty, but steep trail and has pretty views along the way. This will get you buns of steel, this is a moderate to difficult hike, would not attempt if out of shape as once you get up there you basically have to finish the hike. This will get you buns of steel, this is a moderate to difficult hike, would not attempt if out of shape as once you get up there you basically have to finish the hike. Lots of steps, rocks, trees obstacles, little look out points. Very fun!

Montezuma Castle is an iconic local castle ruins built into the side of the mountain. Very relaxing walk with lots of trees and shade from main entrance. If you in the area, you should not miss!

On the way back down the hill, there is a really small parking area, try to squeeze in if you can and a very short hike up the hill is the Airport Mesa Vortex site which is marked with Carins (Stacked Rocks). This is also another stunning area to catch full Sedona views but from the opposite side. You will not want to miss these incredible views!

Wupatki is a pretty long drive from civilization, however, amazing to drive past the sunset crater with all the black lava flows and lots of beautiful nature in route and there is a nice visitors center with snacks and rest rooms and the site itself is worth seeing especially if you like ancient civilizations.

This is by far my favorite local hang out. Amazing shopping, artists, food and views as well as some fun tourists things to do like visit one of the most haunted hotels in America the Jerome Grande. Pro tip is either take an Uber/Lyft or get there early parking can be a challenge at times!

Go into town and get the hay cubes to walk around and feed them in town. Get there EARLY! Parking is limited . Home of Internationally famous “Walter The Orphan Donkey”. This is a few hour drive from Sedona area.

This is a really cute place with a nice upscale restoration which has really nice drinks and food. Awesome red rock and valley views if you can get a seat new the window. Great to have lunch grab food and drink and relax and people watch all the Jerome area shoppers.

Check out Sedona Digs in Village of Oak Creek for fantastic local handmade furnishings. Recommend taking the back way on Beaverhead Flat Road from Cornville Rd to 179 for great views and less traffic then heading north on 89A and making the loop. Also while exploring this area's shops there is a really good local IGA noted here to pick up provisions on your way back to Cornville.
