Klipplaatsdrift lodge is a "off-the grid" lodge overlooking the Vlekpoort river 32km's from Hofmeyr, Eastern Cape. The landscape boasts abundant birdlife, scenery and wildlife for those looking to get away. The main lodge is spacious and airy with all the amenities one needs for self catering. The sleeping arraignments: We have 4 chalets with 2 bedrooms each, a lounge area, kitchenette, bathroom with shower and a covered patio with a build in braai area tucked underneath Acaccia thorn trees.

The Stone Cottage Guest House, built in 1896 and recently restored is an ideal farm stay offering luxurious yet rustic self-catering accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This beautiful rustic mountain cottage nestles on the slopes of the Renosterberg. There is no electricity, and the cell phone signal is erratic. The views are unbelievable. This enchanting little cottage provides the perfect place for a retreat away from reality. It is the ideal place for keen hikers, mountain bikers or trail runners to spend an active weekend away. It comfortably sleeps 4 and has a toilet, and shower with a gas geyser.

Doringvygie at Alandale Farm in the Eastern Karoo near Middelburg (Eastern Cape) is set on a working sheep and cattle farm. The self-catering cottage accommodates five guests in three rooms. Enjoy views from the east-facing stoep or Karoo sunsets from the west-facing one.
