This secluded and very quiet, 370 sq ft in home apartment, space is nestled in the trees with a territorial view to the southwest. If you have an appreciation for hand crafted details this is the place for you: hand made windows, a bed frame made from salvaged fir bleacher seats, owner designed light fixtures, and traditionally crafted woodworking details throughout. The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils. The Chestnut has its own secure entrance and private patio. It is accessible by stairs only. I am here and happy to help. Perched on the hilltop above the historic business district, the Chestnut provides easy access to Fremont neighborhood and many delicious restaurants and local shops. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal. There are plenty of food options within walking distance and a number of buses that will easily take you downtown, east to the University district, west to Ballard, and north to greater North Seattle.

Beautiful, bright, newly renovated basement apartment in the University District. Simple, elegant, and timeless are how we describe it. It boasts an open concept layout that feels gracious and relaxing. Our family of 5 lives full-time upstairs. We attempt to keep the noise to a minimum, and you will hear us. We provide a white noise machine, ear plugs and box fan. We are respectful of your privacy, yet happy to help you find your way around the neighborhood if you’re looking for suggestions.

Street parking is plentiful right by the house with no time limits. You’ll have everything you need in this urban oasis (especially that wine bottle opener!)

Apartment is near bus stops, bakeries, pubs, many coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, parks, Whole Foods and University Village makes it a perfect spot for your urban vacation. Many attractions are within a 10 minute walk, including Mukilteo beach, the ferry terminal, the Sounder train to downtown Seattle or Mukilteo town.
