One of a Kind Apartment with Landmark Views

Look out at Hallgrímskirkja just outside the picture windows with volcanic mountain ranges in the distance. This renovated Icelandic home is filled with comforts, artisanal touches, books, and local art—all a warm welcome after a day of sightseeing. Guests staying in the flat have a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, microwave, stove, and oven, and a spacious living area with artisanal dining table and Danish design couch, in addition to a quiet bedroom and wonderful shower with optimal water pressure. Other amenities include Wi-fi television with complementary Netflix access, high-speed Wi-fi, and washing-machine use. There is also free parking on the street in front of the apartment, and by Hallgrímskirkja. The apartment is ideal for a couple or solo traveller seeking a cozy, private space to get great sleep in support of Icelandic adventures. It is also suitable for longer-stay guests who desire a central home to support work in the city. Due to the walk-up staircase, the apartment is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Additionally, our backgrounds in literature, Icelandic, performing arts, environmental ethics, and education make for neat conversation with our fellow visitors. Cross the street to Hallgrimskirkja and take a few steps more to Laugavegur, the main street with cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries, and shops. It's ten minutes on foot to Harpa, the National Theater, the National Gallery, and other attractions. A five-minute walk takes you to Sundhöllin, the oldest swimming pool in Reykjavik; it has an indoor pool with outdoor thermal pools and a sauna - worth a visit. When arriving in the city by bus from Keflavík Airport (recommended, at 20 USD per head), you would find yourself at the central bus station (BSÍ), which is a ten-minute walk to the apartment, or a few minutes by taxi. Most buses from the airport will, if asked, drop you off at Hallgrímskirkja, Hótel Leifur Eiríksson, or Café Loki, all within a minute´s walk from the apartment. Buses returning from sight-seeing tours, Northern lights tours and such, will usually have their drop-off points at Hallgrímskirkja across the street, or at Einar Jónsson Art Museum, an arm's length away from the apartment. Hotels in the area, some within a minute's walk, have easy pick-up for those leaving for the airport. Apartment is officially registered at the City council of Reykjavík, as specified by local laws. City Center Base in a Prime Location in Reykjavik

A nice and cozy apartment in the city center. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. Additionally there is a spacious living room and a small kitchen with all major appliances. City License for hosting: HG-00005221 The location speaks for itself. Restaurants, cafes and shopping is just around the corner with a great variety of options to indulge oneself. Transportation is not an issue. The Inner City Bus Terminal (Hlemmur) is on the next corner. From there you can take a bus to any destination within the greater Reykjavik city area. Also you can catch a bus to the other Bus Terminal (BSÍ) which takes you to the Keflavik International Airport. The Apartment is fully equipped with wireless internet. Towels and linens are provided upon arrival with extra sets in the master bedroom cabinets. Coffee, tea and soap are complimentary. Our guests are always welcome to contact the host for assistance and guidance. 101 Reykjavik is a lively street near the new Hlemmur, Food Court, which is also the bus terminal. There is a real city vibe in the area, with restaurants, bars, shops, and art galleries just around the corner. Transport links are on the doorstep. Hlemmur, main city bus terminal is on the corner from the apartment. Arriving from the Keflavik International Airport, we recommend that you book the flybus with https://www.re.is/flybus/ It is cheaper to buy tickets online but you can do it few days before you arrive, they have plenty of busses available. So actually this is not mandatory as you can buy them at the airport as well but it costs a bit more and is time consuming. The Flybus will take you from the Airport to BSI bus terminal which is in the city center outskirts. From the BSI bus terminal you can take an ongoing trip to various hotels and locations. When buying the bus ticket, you should select a ticket called FLYBUS PLUS and take it to location called SKUGGI HOTEL - BUS STOP 9, SNORRABRAUT. This would be a hotel just accross the road from our apartment. Pretty simple and cool and you simply need to cross the road to enter the main entrance of our building. You can drink the water from the tab, it’s perfectly clean, pure spring water. You can buy water in grocery stores and restaurants if you want, but its exactly the same water. The hot water sometimes smells of sulphur. It’s because we get it directly from natural hot springs. The garbage bag can be thrown away at the entrance port, black cans for bagged garbage and blue cans for paper and carton. Please make sure the bag has a tight knot.
