The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. Welcome to the Blue Heron on Dowling Lake. We are 25 mins from downtown Superior / 40 mins to Duluth. Our newly remodeled cabin is a great place to relax and recharge. Bring your boat, there is a private dock and the fishing is great! Enjoy the 2 kayaks and canoe, go for a swim or toss some horseshoes. After playing in the lake all day take an outdoor shower.. there is nothing like it! Then sit by the fire pit and enjoy the view. Make some memories, that's what lake life is all about!

Colby Cottage - directly on Lake Dowling!

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful lakefront place that includes a private, on property, swim area! In the summer, enjoy local ATV trails with road trails next to the cabin and the Gandy Dancer approximately 10.5 miles away! You can fuel up you ATV and stomach at a local restaurant/bar (The Backyard on Amnicon Lake) which is only 1.7 miles from the cabin. We are directly on Lake Dowling, known for musky, panfish, largemouth bass, and walleye! Fishing right out your back door!

Off Grid cabin, Cozy, Summer Retreat by a stream.

A unique, octagon, cedar log cabin, situated on 40 secluded wooded acres. A short hike over the Sucker River on a storybook foot bridge to a generous deck which surrounds the cabin. You will need to be physically fit to stay here. You must climb a steep ladder to the loft and do a 2ft step to get off the deck to the marshy land below for making a fire. Also bring a sense of adventure! Wildlife is very near. We do not allow animals or smoking of any kind, sorry.
