Cummer Cottage Joyce Country Escape

This cottage, nestled amidst the tranquil foothills of Joyce Country situated in Co Mayo. Recently has earned a Unesco geopark status for geographical interest. Wild Atlantic Way route. Surrounded by Lough Mask and Lough Corrib and smaller Lough Na Fooey, with lots of recreation from easy walks to hill climbs to fishing and kayaking among one of the many outdoor activities to experience. Ballindooley Castle

The Castle rests on about half an acre of land with Ballindooley Lake lying to the south west. It is surrounded by low walls and hedges: with a gated entrance controlled by an electronic security system. Features include 3 murders holes and a dungeon The castle was built by the DeBurgo family (approximately 1480). It had the distinction of being shelled by the British Gunboat ” Helga” during the1916 Rising to disband rebels

Cuckoo Wood Hexagon, 5km from Westport

This cabin has a hexagon shape with a square porch where the front door is. The Hexagon, as I call it, is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland. On the morning sun side, where the door is, the decking leads to the little purpose built bathroom building. There is a perspex canopy so you can walk over staying dry even if it is raining. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.
