The Grafton Chateau

Welcome to the Grafton Chateau, a gorgeous secluded and private country retreat for all of your family and friends. With six bedrooms and a den, four baths, two fireplaces, a sauna and a large private pond beautifully situated on 67 acres of woodlands, the Grafton Chateau is the perfect comfortable home base for ski trips, hiking, antiquing, or just enjoying the scenery while you sit around the fire pit. The garage has outdoor recreation gear, like snowshoes and sleds. The den has a variety of toys, and games for kids and adults. The whole house, sauna house, barn and all 67 acres are all yours! We are always available by phone, text, or email if you have any questions. Grafton is just about the most charming Vermont town you can find and is convenient to four ski mountains and every other outdoor activity you can imagine.

Nestled within a mountaintop meadow, through a covered bridge & above a small Vermont village, our peaceful cottage is a destination and provides brilliant fall foliage and Vermont's natural beauty. We feel the oxygen and restorative negative ions here on the land from the lush mountain woods; true shinrin-yoku ('forest bathing'). Skiing, hiking, biking, gourmet restaurants, live music, cafés, coffee shops, & health/international market & co-ops exist nearby.

Pettengill Schoolhaus scenic 2 min to main village

Our lovingly restored gem is located >2 miles outside the historic town of Grafton, Vermont. A lovely walk or 10 min. bike ride from Grafton Inn & Tavern (live music!), General Store, shops, museums, tennis. >3 miles to the Outdoor Center hiking, biking, Nordic skiing & swimming. Direct access to the VAST trail system and easy drive to Okemo, Stratton & Lowell Lake. The house is a well appointed 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. Guests love the spacious common areas, inside and out, all in the school theme.

Charming New England Cape

This is our family home, the house that I was born and raised in 73 years ago. Built by my parents in 1941, it has a beautiful back yard with a year round flowing stream with a footbridge, a couple of buildings that were a horse barn and playhouse from my youth, and even an old mill dam. Located just a few minutes to shopping (Grocery, Pharmacy etc) & the local hospital. Within 25 minutes to Okemo, and several other ski areas are within an hours drive! We are centrally located in Southern Vermont ~ 40 min from several ski areas (Okemo, Magic, Bromley, Stratton, etc.) about one hour from Killington Resort, Mount Snow, and Mount Sunapee (NH), and ~ 20 mins from Brattleboro, VT, or Keene, NH.

The Pioneer House is a unique survivor from Vermont’s earliest days. 100% solar powered (panels located on owner’s nearby farm) with zero carbon footprint. This classic center chimney cape, sitting on 12 acres, has been fully and lovingly restored, preserving the best of the old with state of the art all new heating and AC, along with a custom kitchen and 1.5 baths.
