The Narina Trogon Nest

The cottage is on the edge of an ancient forest and perches on the side of a stream. The Narina Trogon and Hamerkop both nest close to the cottage - alongside various buck and many other wild creatures. The cottage is very well appointed with a full kitchen and dish washer, the bedrooms are both en suite, made up with the finest linen - a king size bed and either two 3/4 beds or another king. Persian carpets, a wood stove etc. The farm has many beautiful walks through the hills and forest.

This is our ex home, where we grew up. After some years, we decided to make it an affordable listing for travelers to find a place to stay. It's not fancy, it's a classic "home away from home". But yeah, we have fancy'ish stuff like Wi-Fi, a small courtyard for Braai/BBQ, and some accessories for cooking, a TV, and more. We're not in a contest or competition, but whatever you request, we will do what it takes to provide. There's only one way to find out if you'll like it, or love it. ;)

Beacon Vlei is situated on the Midlands Meander in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands South Africa. We have 5 self catering cottages which are all fully equipped with satellite TV, fireplaces for winter, fully equipped kitchens, en suite bedrooms and magnificent views over our 23 hectare private dam which is well stocked with large mouth Bass. The perfect spot for the avid Bass fisherman. We are a family friendly establishment and we are pet friendly.

Midlands Forest Lodge - Log Cabin Family Chalet

Containing a private entrance, each spacious chalet consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. (The bedrooms link via the front middle veranda or by the two back doors.) There are easy chairs in each bedroom for relaxing with a book. There is a kitchenette for basic self catering. Each chalet has a garden-facing veranda. There are braai facilities and picnic benches for when the weather is good.
