Casa del Capitano | Monte Grosso, Elba

The Casa del Capitano is located on the top of Monte Grosso in the National park of the tuscan archipelago. The location is unique on the island and from here you have a fantastic view of the city of Portoferraio, Piombino, Corsica, Capraia and Gorgona. The house was restored during a project lasting several years, in close collaboration with the National Park and was designed to be self-sufficient and ecological. Here you use purely the energy of the sun, without having to renounce luxury.

A pochi km da città d'arte e sulla via Francigena, l'appartamento può essere base per percorsi naturalistici o enogastronomici. Da una bella terrazza sul panorama potrete godere i vostri pasti, ammirare il tramonto ed osservare la maestosa e magnifica Rocca medioevale .Dal 22/03/18 tassa di di soggiorno comunale2 € a persona. Podere Piazza ist ein Landgut, hat seinen Ursprung im 15. Jahrhundert, das Ferienhaus wurde Anfang 17. Jahrhundert erbaut. Podere Piazza war der Wohnsitz von Alessandro Cervini degli Spannocchi, der am 29 Mai 1747 zum Erzbischof von Siena ernannt wurde, er war ein Nobile di Montepulciano und Patrizier von Siena. Die Gebäude von Podere Piazza tragen noch heute sein Wappen. Somit erklärt sich auch unser Kirchlein, am Straßenabzweig, davor rechts zur Pinienallee und links in die Einfahrt.

On the one hand the room with stunning views over the surrounding hills (Pienza, Monticchiello and Montepulciano) on the other the kitchen area. Two cozy rooms overlook the ancient Via Francigena and the Orcia river valley. The bathroom has a large shower.
