Close proximity to KU, K-State, and Emporia State University. Lakes in the surrounding areas- Wabaunsee Lake, Pomona Lake, Perry Lake, Milford Lake, Malvern Lake, Clinton Lake. Great hunting in the area ; deer, ducks, geese, & turkeys.

The Loft at The Volland Store

The Loft is on the second floor, overlooking the art gallery of The Volland Store. At night, unless there is an event open to the public, you have the gallery to yourself. Guests tell us it feels like "a night at the museum." The Volland Store is in an official dark zone. The skies are full of stars - and if you plan it right, there is a full moon. Truly a rural retreat in the heart of the Flint Hills. Coffee is provided, but bring something for breakfast. No pets please. Thank you.

The location just off I-70 means it is close to Topeka (20 minutes) and Manhattan (less than 30 minutes). Also close to St. Mary's (20 minutes) and Maple Hill (5-8 minutes).
