Outdoor Basecamp at Tiny Hidden Ridge

Our basecamp apartment is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast looking for an escape to the countryside. We are 1/2mile from the C&O Towpath and Potomac river and less than 2 miles from Harpers Ferry and the Appalachian Trail. Our location makes this perfect for couples, families or groups looking to hike, bike, or raft. Make use of our deck, grill, fire pit, and bike tools. We recently got internet. But no TV, and weak cell signal. The kitchenette has a hotplate, toaster oven, and coffee maker.

Nestled atop a knoll with breathtaking views of rolling hills, pastures and beautiful South Mountain, our farm is your peaceful home away from home. Swing on the wrap around porch, or enjoy dinner on our 800 sq ft back patio. If adventure is more your thing, you will enjoy the walking trails, creeks and ponds. Guests will have exclusive access to the farmhouse and surrounding 2 acres. The remaining 27 acres is a working farm, with seasonal farm activity. Guests may explore the whole farm.

Spruce Run Cottage, Farm stay on Catoctin Mountain

The cottage is located on 25 acres of mostly wooded terrain off Highway 17 near Wolfsville, Maryland, less than an hour and a half from D.C. The cottage faces the woods and the private drive down to the creek. There is almost zero light pollution at night so stargazing is incredible from the balcony. The hosts live on the property up the hill in an 1890’s chink log cabin. Although you can see our house, the cottage feels very private and is a quiet comfortable retreat in the hills.

City Dog Farm

Comfortable, light-filled one bedroom apartment on 10 acres in Maryland near Antietam battlefield and Harpers Ferry, WV. We have chickens, an organic garden, hills, woods and a stream. Apartment is 15 minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam battlefield, the C&O canal, river rafting on the Potomac or Shenandoah, vineyards, the Appalachian trail and small towns including Boonsboro and Shepherdstown, WV. 30 minutes to Frederick or Hagerstown/1.5 hours to DC or Baltimore. The mountains from three different states (PA, MD, WV) can be seen from within the tiny house. Sitting on the edge of 275 acres of farmland means you will be sure to hear the turkeys gobble during the daytime or the whippoorwill at night. Relax and enjoy the scenery from the loft bed.

Outfitters nearby offer rafting, kayaking/canoeing, tubing, ziplines. Vineyards all around. Hosts live in attached house and are nearby if needed.

Appalachian Trail, Harper's Ferry, C&O bike bath, Catoctin Nature Center, Greenbrier Lake, Rivers, galleries, shops, antiques, and restaurants of Frederick, and more are within 15-20 minutes of the farm.

Abby's Lookout is conveniently located just outside historic Berkeley Springs, WV. You'll find solitude and everything else you'll need to enjoy a piece of West Virginia. The renovated space offers a large kitchen for cooking meals for your friends or family. Relax on the deck or in the elevated hot tub while soaking up the incredible starry views. Sleep well in either a queen size bed or two twins.
