The Quarters at Lansdowne

Renovated 1850s brick dependency. 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs - four poster double bed, queen iron bed and full walk-in shower/bath. Living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry and Murphy bed with shower/bath downstairs. Ground floor rooms were originally a kitchen and washing/ironing room with built in kettle for hot water. The cook, butler and children's nurse lived on the 2nd floor; our family occupied it since the 1940s. Cotton, sheep and cattle raised on the property from the 1870s to 1960.

Beautiful, spacious house located on beautiful Lake St John, Louisiana. This is an entire house with a wonderful 56 x 14 foot screened in front porch. The sunsets are just amazing. This home features 3 bedrooms and two baths. There is a sectional in the living room that can easily sleep 2 plus a twin day bed. Two bedrooms have two queen size beds each and the 3rd bedroom has a king size bed. Outside there is a fabulous big charcoal grill. This retreat is so charming you will never want to leave!

This house has two beds. One is across from the wood stove. The second is in the sleeping loft. The loft has an open fourth wall and a queen mattress. It’s a cozy spot and not roomy. My place is close to Okissa Lake, Clearsprings Recreational area, city of Natchez, and the Natchez Trace.. it is only 2 1/2 hours from New Orleans, or less than 2 hours from Baton Rouge. You’ll love our place because the property is located in the middle of the Homochitto National Forest. It is secluded and quiet. No plane, train, or automobile noise.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
