Our yurt is privately located on a ten acre property with its own entrance and nestled up against national forest. A short creek trail right from your front door is for you to enjoy at your own risk! You’ll have the view of Ironside Mountain and the sound of the rushing Hennessy Creek while you’re soaking in an outdoor tub giving you that peaceful getaway feel. Fishing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking and dirt bike riding are just some of what’s to offer in these rugged lands.

Overlooking a 30-foot natural waterfall*, surrounded by ferns, and mossy forest, it’s a basecamp made for relaxing. The cabin’s translucent pop-up window opens into a covered awning, giving you a front-row seat to the forest, no matter the weather, while the mosquito netting keeps the bugs away. Welcome to The Wind and Tide where forest meets sea. Our newly remodeled home is situated on three acres of forested cliffside overlooking the Pacific, just north of the seaside village of Trinidad. Tranquility awaits as you take a dip in the hot tub and relax by the fire pit, soaking up the sounds of sea lions, the views of migrating whales, and sunsets and stargazing galore. Tide-pooling, agate hunting, and exploring Sue-Meg State Park is just a short drive down the road.

Only an 8 minute drive to McKinleyville and the Pacific Ocean, and 15 minutes to Arcata Plaza and Cal Poly Humboldt University. Our yurt is a place of tranquility & fun in the round. It’s a perfect for a romantic getaway or family vacation. You have private river access located next to the Strawhouse Cafe’ across the street where you can swim, fish, relax, and/or hike nearby trails. The kitchen has a mini fridge, air fryer, toaster oven, induction plate & microwave and is stocked with cups, plates, silverware, etc. Charcoal BBQ is in share area outside.
