The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

Porch and balcony give access to a Florida landscape of water, Cypress trees and assortment of wildlife.

Enjoy using the 3 kayaks on the lake during the day, then challenge each other to a game of 8 ball at night on the billiards table. Swim and enjoy cocktails by the pool on the lanai.

Our cozy cottage features a queen master, 2 sofa-beds, a full kitchen, and dining for 6. From meeting our farm animals, biking, kayaking, or reading in the gazebo, there is something for everyone! Bring your boat/ jet ski or rent one from Eaton's Beach Aquatic sports, they also offer sunset cruises and water taxi to Eaton's Beach restaurant right from our dock!

Explore the area on our paddleboat, kayaks or paddle board. If its shopping and nightlife you enjoy we are close to Leesburg, Eustis, Mt. Dora, Tavares and the Villages. Or maybe you would enjoy watching wildlife and exploring one of the many parks or trails in the area. Central Florida has it all.

Your private retreat on an acre nestled on a canal to the Withlacoochee River, wrapping around 2 sides of the property. Relax on your porch overlooking the water as you watch the birds and deer play. Kids will love the tire swing, toys such as Lego, Lincoln logs, pool table and ski ball. Kayaks available to our guests awaiting adventure. Inverness Home with a View

Relax in a clean, welcoming, home that has been updated. There are 2 fishing poles available for your use. We make sure they are in working condition and well maintained. Shopping, restaurants, and entertainment is close by. Want a beach....35 minute ride to Fort Island Trail Beach and boat ramp. We do allow hypoallergenic small dogs (2 max), non-shedding, 25 lbs. or less, each w/ proof of shot records, please bring a kennel with you. There is a non refundable $25.00 per dog fee.

All that and it's located only 10 minutes from The Villages where you can shop and have fun. Centrally located 1-1/2 hours from Disney, Daytona beach, and Tampa. Lockbox key access is available for check-ins at any time of day.
