Richmond Arms, Scottish Historical Grandeur

The magnificent Richmond Arms sits like a castle on the hill on the northern slopes of the Cairngorm Mountains in the tranquil village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands. Built as a fishing lodge in 1858, it boasts a collection of over 250 single malt whiskies, and stocks a large selection of Scottish Craft Beers. Martin Hutchinson is an approachable host, he and his family took it over seven years ago and gave it a rebirth, providing wonderful hospitality and local information.

Only 10 minutes from Aberdeen International Airport and 10 minutes from the new P&J Arena Exhibition Centre this small family run hotel has everything that its bigger counterparts have but due to the size every customer is treated as a VIP. Nothing is too much trouble...get advice on where to go and what to do in the local area. The village has a local shop, hairdressers, beautician, chemist, take-aways. We have an amazing Scottish Gift Shop nearby "Kilts Wi Hae" & Glen Garioch Distillery.

The Cove Bay is an old coaching Inn in the heart of the community dating back to 1780 with many original features still in place. Its overlooks the Sea with Cove Harbour below, which still has Lobsters and crabs landed there today. The hotel has a homley feel which locals use both for food and socialising in the Pub. The rooms are comfortable and recently refurbished, flat screen HD TVs and free Wifi through out the building. Unfortunately not all of our rooms have seaviews.

The Mash Tun - Stalla Dhu Lodge

The Lodge has four bedrooms (3 x doubles & 1 twin) available, accommodating 2-8 guests in total. It is initially booked as an entire apartment. The number of rooms allocated and the corresponding price depend on the number of guests. Enjoy our amenities, including The Cigar Pavilion, Roof Top Deck, Wood-Burning Sauna, Outside Seating Area, Private Lounge with Flatscreen Tv and Onsite Parking.
