I am offering an advanced session to learn the process of creating a coloured borosilicate glass pendant art work. This is a workshop session for maximum 3 people and lasts around 3 hours with a few breaks. During the session each participant makes minimum two ornaments and often more.. I teach how to blow a glass bubble with coloured dots on. Towards the end of the session I will create a several demo pieces to show tricks and techniques. The participant will get to keep the demo pieces as well. Please note the pieces made need to be annealed in the kiln for 6 hours after the session end so they will not be ready to take home. Let us start by saying the whisky is optional, drink alternatives are available and the cost of the whisky is not included in the £15.50. We do this to make the event as inclusive as possible for drinker, non drinker, whisky lovers and whisky sceptics alike. The whisky or drink alternatives can be added-on on the day. We meet just off the iconic Royal Mile inside a café/bar called Hot Toddy. We have the entire downstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you. Other things to note This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. Feel free to turn up at Hot Toddy earlier to enjoy some food or drink before the event starts. Guests joining at 5pm or 7:30pm can also add a traditional Haggis dinner to their experience for an additional £14per person. This can be enjoyed in the venue upstairs, after the experience. This is the ideal tour for anyone who wants to learn more than just the basics about Edinburgh's historic Old Town. To start, meet us away from most other tourists, on the edge of Princes Street Gardens, for the best view of Edinburgh Castle in the whole city. This tour will have a bit of everything - you'll learn about the lives of some of the Old Town's most famous and infamous residents, and some gruesome, interesting, and entertaining stories about what the city has seen over the centuries. Along the way, we'll point out some of our favourite spots to pop in for a "wee dram" or pint, so you'll know just where to go once the tour is over! This tour starts at 16.30 between March 23rd-October 18th, after the crowds have died down, so we have more space to explore Old Town. Between October 19th-March 22nd, this tour starts at 14.00, due to limited daylight in winter months. We limit the group size, so it's still a personal experience and you'll be able to chat with your guide and ask questions. This tour includes a little of The Royal Mile and a lot of The Castle. Set aside time after your tour to explore. The price advertised does not include the entrance price to the castle, this is because some people book their own tickets in advance. You can purchase castle tickets directly from us at the start of the tour for your convenience. We meet on the Royal Mile and start by giving a little background history to Edinburgh and the Castle to help put everything into context. Moving up to the castle esplanade where you will learn about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and two of the most famous figures from Scottish history; Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Entering the Castle we stop by the Argyle Battery where you will learn about the 1 o'clock gun. Moving on we head down to the Hospital Square where we get impressive views from the Western Panorama before heading up towards the castle barracks and prisoner of war camp, all these areas have enthralling stories that only a guide can bring to life. We then climb to the top of Castle Rock entering the medieval section of Edinburgh Castle. Here we see the oldest building in Edinburgh, St Margaret’s Chapel and Mons Meg, a monstrous canon! The tour finishes in the Crown Square which is the heart of Edinburgh Castle and I will tell you all about the daring attacks against this iconic fortification.

Uxbridge is my home town and love living near so much green space, canal and rivers. I have a great passion for off road cycling and have found my own routes via local public trails, canal towpaths and open fields. The routes themselves vary in distance and all start from the Grand Union Canal. Occasionally parts of a route may involve cycling on roads for short while. These roads are generally not busy with heavy traffic. Though I have listed routes below, I am very much open to adapting the routes to suite. Can be flexible on timings too as want to make sure you have the best enjoyable experience on two wheels.

I will welcome our guests with East African Coffee / tea and Ghanaian chocolate cake as they go through our collection of African Textiles. I will explore the symbols and the history of our treasured collection of African Textiles. We will then dig deep into the technique of tie and dyeing where each guest will be given their own cloth to pattern and dye in different colours.
