Woodpecker Cottage (Dog Friendly)

Set in the pretty, sandstone village of Great Salkeld, Woodpecker Cottage is the perfect Cumbrian retreat. This single storey dog friendly cottage, comfortably sleeps 2 and has the use of a large garden. You’ll love Great Salkeld with its excellent village pub, ancient church and its many countryside walks. The village is set in the tranquil Eden Valley, close to the river Eden. Just 10 miles from the Lake District National Park, it makes an ideal base from which to explore this stunning region.

Cosy 2-Bedroom Cottage With Breathtaking Views

Delightfully situated in the stunning North Pennines (AONB), mid-point on the C2C. Only 1/4 mile walk through the fields, is the quaint Garrigill village. Just 4 miles to the cobbled streets of Alston heritage town, you'll find country pubs, restaurants, an Artisan Bakery and an array of independent shops. Cosying up with you pup? Bundling up for a night of stargazing? Or, simply recharging your batteries (and your cars) after a day of adventures? Then Maple Cottage is your home away from home.

The Rookery

This 400 year old coach house was built around the turn of the 1600's. It has quirky uneven walls, beams made from sailing ships that travelled the world, and a pretty courtyard garden. There's no kitchen, but is a dining room with mini fridge, microwave kettle, crockery, cutlery and tea making things and a large container for you to leave your dishes out for me. *DOGS* Please keep dogs off the bed and furniture because I find the dog hairs just spread over everything in the washing machine.

A detached stone cottage in the heart of the north Pennines. Stunning views. With fantastic footpaths, cycle routes straight from the door for those with plenty of energy as it is hilly. Great base for exploring the area. With pubs and coop 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk. Recently renovated to a high standard but still feels characterful and cosy. Underfloor heating, induction hob and super insulated. 2 well behaved dogs only are allowed for a small fee. Sorry no other pets allowed.

Nestled in the picturesque Eden Valley, just 20 minutes from the Lake District, this one-bedroom cottage offers a peaceful retreat. Set in a beautifully converted barn with oak beams, it's the ideal getaway for small families, couples, friends, and solo travellers. Melmerby village is home to the welcoming Shepherd’s Inn pub and the award-winning Village Bakery. For everyday essentials, the local shop in Langwathby is nearby, and the towns of Penrith and Alston are just a short drive away.

Curlew, En-Suite Shepherds Hut

Our new handcrafted shepherds hut has en-suite facilities and underfloor heating. It has an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We are situated in a very quiet part of Northumberland with excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, we have disused railway lines with viaduct and riverside walks. Nearby is the market town of Alston, Penrith and the north lakes, Barnard Castle in Teasdale. Stanhope in Weardale. Hadrian's wall, Hexham, Brampton and Carlisle

Nenthead accommodation ideal for exploring

In the heart of the North of England you will find our accommodation set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The rooms we offer have been designed with the explorer in mind, to use a base to explore the local surrounding area, the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham. We have had guests walking the Isaacs Tea Trail as well as cyclists doing the C2C. After a long day exploring the local area return to refresh yourself in our spacious bathroom complete with underfloor heating.

Lying in the picturesque hamlet of Banks, which rests on the course of Hadrian's Wall, is this single-storey mid-terrace cottage, Solport View Cottage.Just a stone's throw from Brampton in northern Cumbria, Solport View Cottage is the perfect base for discovering the wealth of attractions that Hadrian’s Wall offers. The North Pennines, Solway Coast and Scottish Borders are all close too. With its panoramic views and fully enclosed garden it is also perfect for sitting back and relaxing.

The Nook is a beautiful 17th Century detached stone cottage, refurbished to modern standards whilst retaining period charm. Located in the countryside, a short walk away from Alston's town centre which includes a pub, cafe and some shops. Perfect for a relaxing break in an area of outstanding natural beauty, lots of scenic walks from the doorstep. Private garden with a hot tub, a perfect way to view the stars on a clear night. Cosy up in front of the log burner in the spacious lounge.

After a day exploring the beautiful countryside on your doorstep, watch the sunset from this lovely little cottage for two, newly converted from the byre and loft of a traditional sandstone barn. Peaceful and self-contained, but just across the courtyard from our Victorian farmhouse, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay with a well-equipped kitchen and wifi. The property is set on a smallholding in a picturesque Cumbrian village at the bottom of Hartside pass.

This cosy property has it's own private spa. Newly built for 2024, the spa area forms the entrance to the property featuring 2 seat hot tub, rainwater shower and feature original stone wall with lantern roof window. This beautiful hideaway is completely hidden from view, overlooking rolling velvet farmland of the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty and has been refurbished to an extremely high standard with attention to design and detail.
