3 Cottages + Playbarn in the Peak District

Our site has 3 cottages nestled in the Peak District. Hall Farm is on the outskirts of Wetton village which has a pub and tea room. Thor’s cave is 15 minute walk away and the villages of Hartington, Alstonefield and Ilam are all within 10 minutes. We are close to many attractions inc Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife, Dovedale and Chatsworth. Our cottages are well stocked, have 2 bedrooms and sleep between 3-5 people. Our site has a playbarn (Gamesroom), play area, hens, BBQ and large garden.

Pretty Victorian riverside cottage, Alstonefield

Dove Cottage is a former Victorian fishing lodge in a unique setting on the banks of the river Dove. It is situated 3/4 mile from the pretty village of Alstonefield and 5 1/2 miles north of the bustling market town of Ashbourne. The cottage overlooks a tranquil stretch of river running through Wolfscote Dale and a historic former water mill. A riverside footpath passes the bottom of the garden leading north along the river to Hartington and south to Dovedale and the Stepping Stones.

At the northern end of Dovedale, beside the sparkling River Dove, you will find scenic walks galore on your doorstep along footpaths and quiet lanes, or perhaps the Tissington or Manifold Trails, which offer easy walking/cycling and impressive views. Hawthorne Cottage is a lovely recently refurbished limestone cottage in the glorious Derbyshire Peak District just steps away from Hartington village centre and its 2 friendly pubs, a perfect place for a relaxing break or for the more energetic there’s great walks (dogs welcome!) and cycling trails on the doorstep. We have the great advantage of 2 PARKING SPACES and a lock up for cycles. The terraced gardens afford views over the village and surrounding hills beyond.

Swallows Cottage is a peaceful Peak District retreat, two miles from Ashbourne, with a log burner and a rare private heated outdoor pool (June–August).
