JUA HOUSE is a Bed & Breakfast located in the middle of the traditional Swahili village Shela on Lamu island. The interior design combines traditional Swahili woodcraft, African style and a touch of modern artistry. Cleanliness, functionality, comfort, beauty and of course the service to the guest are our top targets. There are five Double Rooms, one Single Room and the Rooftop Suite available. The double rooms are all equipped with king size or twin beds. All rooms their own private bathrooms.

Kai House is set on the Idyllic Island of Kiwayu within the Kiunga Marine Reserve. Kiwayu Island is part of the Lamu Archipelago. Kai House began when I worked at Mikes Camp for many years and together with the island community we built this house traditional style out of palm fronds and coconut leaves mangroves and driftwood. Now we have been hosting guests here for 6years. It’s in the most idyllic setting The full name Maja Kai means Water Village. Comfortable affordable accommodation

DEULI HOUSE - private suite 1 + access to gardens

The suite is set on the 1st floor of Deuli House with its own en-suite bathroom and private balcony overlooking the house's mature gardens. Only 2mins from the beach and hidden in Shella dunes, Deuli House is situated next to the old 16th century Deuli Mosque. It is a perfect peaceful retreat for friends or families that's very private and surrounded by gardens and palms. Guests may also utilise the house's ground floor living space and two mature gardens. .
