A beautiful beach on the Solway Coast is only 12 miles away.

Only a few miles from the Lake District National Park and Solway Coastline, Scholars Cottage is superbly situated for you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and some of the best local walking routes during your stay. The Cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard and we look forward to hosting for you as you explore the Western Lake District.

It has a dog friendly beach, is great for fishing, has lots of wildlife and has the most stunning sunsets. In winter, enjoy cosy evenings with the fire lit. An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. The village pub and shop are less than a 5-minute walk, with a regular bus service to Keswick between March and October. The cottage has 2 bedrooms en-suite, a multi fuel stove and parking on site. The cottage is attached to the main house, and is self contained.
