We are in the tranquil Western Lake District National Park close to the Coast to Coast bike route and with plenty of walking right from the door. Your comfortable ensuite bedroom and own breakfast / sitting room is upstairs so has gorgeous views across to woods and fells. The bedroom can be set up as two singles or one kingsize bed. We can provide a delicious basket of local and home-made food for a help-yourself- breakfast for £5 per person. There is parking and a garage for storing bikes.

Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Our luxury detached Lakeland cottage in the village of Lorton sits in a hidden gem of a valley and is a year round destination . Two beautiful bedrooms one of which can turn into single beds and each with their own bathrooms offers flexibility for both couples and families. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Our cottage is a perfect base for outdoor activities such as walking, fishing and climbing or more leisurely nature watching, sight-seeing or just relaxing. The living area of the holiday cottage is situated on the first floor of the farm house. This gives fantastic views over the garden to Whiteless Pike from the bedroom and lounge/dining room. Although fully self-contained, the apartment is accessed by the main staircase, shared with your hosts, Alister and Rach.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
