Powfoot is peaceful with a bar and restaurant. There's free putting at the door, golf, lots of nature, nearby outlet shopping, the Solway coast and more!

During the day you can watch the tidal changes bring you both golden sandy beaches with rock pools & a pebbled beach front to explore. The area is family & dog friendly. As well as relaxing on the beach front, you can also enjoy: visiting the Lake District, fishing & more, England's coast path is also on your doorstep.

The Sea Cubby, Private Holiday Lodge, Portling.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

From the spacious conservatory, guests can relax, take in the stunning views towards the Isle of Man, look out for the family of otters who live by the sea, experience spectacular sunsets and star gaze. For the more adventurous there are lovely walks, cycling tracks, water sports, horse riding centres and top notch golf courses in the area. You’ll need a car to explore but there are local taxis for pub visits!

From its cosy window seats you can watch the boats bobbing in the harbour just outside, and sometimes see local seals as well! The first floor flat is just a short stroll away from a fantastic traditional pub/restaurant.
