Opposite you'll find a cosy, dog-friendly village pub with open fires. You’ll be 7 minutes away from artisanal food producers in the market town of Malton (known as Yorkshire's Food Capital) and ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds (2 miles), Howardian Hills (10 miles), York (17 miles) & Beaches (27 miles).

With its double height vaulted ceiling and full height double aspect windows the open plan kitchen living diner offers a light and airy space to unwind and enjoy the view of surrounding fields. The property is in a peaceful setting but only two minutes walk away from the village pub and post office/general store. Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. It’s about 10 miles from both York and Malton, Castle Howard is under 6 miles away, and the coast can be reached in under an hour. Grooms Cottage sleeps 4 guests+2 babies +dogs

The Garden Room

Two renovated old buildings have been converted into a quiet, one bedroom, self contained Garden room. In the centre of Slingsby village, you are well placed to explore the beautiful surrounding areas of Yorkshire. A modern kitchen with fridge, microwave and cooker is equipped for preparing delicious meals. A wall mounted television with Netflix is available. The sleeping area hosts a double bed with wall hanging for clothes, adjacent to which is a bright shower room with heated towel rail.

Cavendish Court is part of a select housing development on the edge of the picturesque Castle Howard village of Slingsby in North Yorkshire. The peaceful village nestles on the northern edge of the Howardian Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a great base to explore York, Malton, Helmsley, Pickering, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Coast. The village facilities include the Grapes a destination pub & local bakery. Malton (Yorkshire’s food capital) is short drive away.

The grade 2 listed 'Charlotte Cottage' is the first in the run of former servants cottages.
