The Stone House in Aspro (North Side)

The Northern Stone House is a fully-equipped traditional cottage with a large outdoor yard, in the village of Aspro, Chania. It was built in the late 1800s and renovated in 2020 by myself and my father. Our goal was to create a space that is simple, serene and evocative of older times, yet is completely functional in the modern sense. It's located 2km away from the area's main village Almyrida, where you can find some basic stores, restaurants, as well as a couple of beautiful beaches.

The boutique style interior opens up to large terraces for dining and relaxation. The ensuite shower room leads out from the calming bedroom to the private plunge pool, which is 2m by 4m in size. The pool can be heated with prior request. The cottage nestles between mature olive trees in an acre of beautiful Cretan countryside and is secluded from the main house.

Traditional, ecological and reclaimed materials were used throughout, retaining as much of the character of the original property as possible, while sensitively updating to provide a comfortable living space throughout the year. Situated in the peaceful traditional village of Xirosterni, 10 mins drive from the nearest beach.

The second-floor balcony of your two-level villa offers a breathtaking view of Souda Bay. When you're not admiring the scenery, you can lounge at the pool deck, take a dip in the pool, or unwind in your private hot tub in front of the bedroom.
