Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

The District 5 Schoolhouse was historically built "with not a single nail in the structure" in the 1800's. It still stands as a symbol of dedication to craftsmanship and community. Lovingly restored, preserving as much of the original soul as possible, it promises to be a luxury stay in understated sophistication with 100% linen sheets, beautiful kitchen/dining, lovely private outdoor space, tranquil idyllic work/recharge areas, and enough space to make your own history. You won't want to leave.

Beautiful private self-contained Guesthouse on the shore of Lake Chapin all sports lake. Enjoy our kayaks, paddle boat & canoe. Play in the water or relax on a float just steps from the back door. New furniture & Kitchen Remodeling completed. Enjoy the fire pit or relax and watch the beautiful scenery. Enjoy the walk out deck with a wonderful view of the lake. Enjoy the peace & quiet as you sit around the fire pit or relax on the outdoor patio that's fully furnished with furniture and a charcoal grill. Come enjoy your stay as you take advantage of the local wine tours, nearby Lake MI. beaches and the county parks.

Farm Cottage

Sweet cottage on our farm: Fully equipped kitchen and furnished living/sleeping area 14’x15' approx., washer/dryer. Sleeps 4: queen bed and queen sofa bed. Lots of privacy and next to organic garden, fields, stable and fruit orchards. All utilities, TV and WI-FI included. Well water with new water softener and water heater. Pet friendly; no pet fee. Lots of farm paths to walk your pet. Encourage off leash if trained. Horses have moved to another farm while pasture and stable rehabbed.

Ott Farmhouse

Experience the beauty of country living this season! From spring planting in May to fresh strawberries in June; grape harvest in Sep and pumpkin picking in Oct, or simply admire the snow tipped vines in the endless acres surrounding the farmhouse! Enjoy the quiet and beauty of the country! This property has a shared driveway to our equipment storage, farm shop and grain storage. 1/2 mile to Grandview Farmhouse - another Airbnb property!

Cabin off 39 - Peaceful, private one bedroom cabin

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Nestled among the trees, it provides a quiet getaway from the chaos of life allowing you to recharge and renew. The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.

The Shire

Nestled on five secluded, tree-lined acres, with a pond, waterfall, fire pit, tree swing, basketball court and walking trails, The Shire feels a million miles away from it all - but isn't! We are only minutes away from wineries, breweries, amazing beaches, restaurants and shopping. (Notre Dame is an easy 30 minute drive). Southwest Michigan is a beautiful place to live! We'd LOVE to share it with you.
