Sunset Ranch, acre lot facing open high desert

Sunset Ranch is an acre lot at the far southeast corner of Marathon, TX that backs up to the ranch land facing south that provides unobstructed views of sunrises and sunsets from the 700 sf covered porch. Marathon is a quaint west Texas town with a public park, gardens, restaurants and shopping. It also has a level 1 night sky rating for star gazing. Located 40 minutes from Big Bend National Park entrance, this is a launch point to explore the national park and other parks and communities.

Casa Estrella • Luxury Yurt — Cerca del Cielo

Climate controlled! What is a Yurt? Yurts originated in Mongolia. The Mongolian people were nomadic, and they took their homes (yurts) with them as they tended to, and traveled, with their livestock. Today yurts are built on a platform & consist of two thick layers of canvas with a layer of insulation in between, and most notably a domed skylight at their center. 5 mins to Alpine, 30 mins to Fort Davis, Marfa, and Marathon. Big Bend Park, Terlingua, & Lajitas are roughly 100 miles away.

Fordhouse Suite is a hidden gem in the heart of Sanderson. Two guests can relax in this fully updated, historic pharmacy and its amenities. The suite is walking distance to the local coffee shop, Amtrak station and other local businesses. Guests can enjoy a desert sunset and fire in the private backyard with native plants and wild life. A well-maintained guesthouse with the feel of the Old West. Located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but just minutes from downtown, the guesthouse is 30 feet from our house. We are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use. Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy the view, or visit with our livestock. We are pet-friendly. Relax around the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites.

"Rock House" overlooks the scenic Musquiz Canyon and the Davis Mountains. Serene and secluded, the home is surrounded by several acres of pristine land for exploring. It features four comfortable shaded porches from which you can take in the sunrise, unwind at sunset, and gaze at brilliant stars in the heart of the world's largest Dark Sky Preserve. For all its privacy, the Rock House is conveniently located minutes from downtown Fort Davis and less than 30 minutes from Marfa and Alpine.

Just 2 miles off IH-10 and walking distance to town and amenities, this 360sf cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s ideal for a visit to Balmorhea State Park, home of the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool, where people swim and scuba dive year-round in 74 degree water. Bird watching is popular at Sandia Wetlands and Balmorhea Lake. It’s a perfect place to start or end your visit to the Big Bend area, or as an overnight stop-over when traveling on IH-10.

It’s ideally located across from the community theater and within walking distance of eateries, parks, and historic sites. We welcome up to two pets ($50 pet fee).

The Peach House

Mi Casa Es Su Casa! Our little Spanish style house is a nice blend of Mexican Ranch and Southwest Desert. It was built with love and a purpose. All peach house income goes to our children's college fund. Thanks for helping make our kids smarter, while you relax in Alpine!
