Also, we’ll explore the catalysts behind Prohibition and focus on the women of the Gilded Age, and the movement that gave rise to an oil king. To round off our journey together, we'll take you around the edge of Times Square and finally we’ll discuss the demise of Prohibition over cocktails at our last venue stop. Did you know that spending time around animals reduces stress and increases feelings of happiness? You can double that when they are rescued goats! Come spend time outdoors and meet some of the most affectionate goats there are. Visitors will get an introduction to each goat and and learn about their breed as well as their rescue stories, behaviors and unique characteristics of the species. We are loaded with goat fun facts and corny goat puns to add a little laughter into our day! You'll also become part of the herd when we start a leisurely 1/2 mile hike through marked trails on our 15 acre property with the goats, who enjoy navigating the trails and foraging along the way. Watching the goats in a natural habitat and bonding with them is truly magical. We end with extra quality time with all of the goats, who love lots of attention, allowing for plenty of hugs, scratches, and photo ops. Everyone leaves with a sticker of their favorite goat. You will kayak the Hudson River Estuary including several places that are not publicly advertised. You will become a team member of the NYC paddling community. Some prior kayaking experience is required, and beginners may find kayaking strenuous. Participants must be comfortable navigating in deep water. Your safety is our number one priority and we are in compliance with all COVID-19 requirements. All you need to bring is a willing attitude and a smile. Prepare to get wet and don't panic if you capsize. You will see Piermont New York, the Sparkill Creek, and wildlife like you've never seen it before (water proof camera recommended for photos). You'll meet at the Ace Hotel hotel lobby, located at 20 W 29th Street in Manhattan. Here you'll meet with other market-goers and your personal guide and shopper. Grab a cup of coffee and head over to market #1, where you'll encounter not just legendary vendors but also legendary New Yorkers. This is my favorite market to people watch. Street photographers come here often just to snap pics! Next, you'll hop on the subway with help from your guide to head uptown. Your second market was formerly called "The Green Flea" in the 1970s and was home to some of the best down & dirty vintage resale. Today it is a blend of secondhand, handmade, artisanal and excellent food trucks. Grab lunch from one of the many food vendors before heading out to explore this markets 100+ stalls. The best part? You'll end next to the Natural History Museum and Central Park. Perfect to continue your day on the Upper West Side neighborhood of NYC. Take a guided horseback riding tour on our 300+ acres of private mountain trails lead by an experienced guide. After signing up and meeting the horses, we will show you the skills you need to ride through our trails. You will be accompanied by an experienced trail guide the entire time. This is a beginner friendly ride, most of the ride is walking, we go at the pace of the least experienced rider in the group. If you would like to do some more trotting, don't want to ride in a group, or are experienced, we recommend booking a private ride. The ride itself is 1 hour long and is done in a western saddle. The minimum age is 7 years to ride. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests before booking!

A brief introduction of the residents and tour of the sanctuary is followed by setting up materials and getting creative. For animal lovers visiting the Hudson valley, Wayward Ranch is a must see on your list of places to explore! We are a nonprofit animal sanctuary and rescue located on a beautiful and serene 60 acre horse farm in Kerhonkson. On the tour you get the opportunity to meet our horses, pigs, goats, and maybe even a dog or a cat, along the way learning each of their individual stories. We provide hands-on interaction with all the animals, giving you an up close and personal introduction to the world of animal welfare and rescue. Everything is better with goats. (It's true.) Designed specifically for the people who love being active in the outdoors and also love animals! Come hike with us and our herd of rescued goats through the beauty of the forest tucked into a remote part of the Catskills, just 2 hours from Manhattan. Our goats feel safest with humans and so they magically follow and walk with us through the woods on seasoned trails as we become part of their herd. No leashes needed! We will meander over beautiful streams, enjoying the wildlife and scenery while we forage for some of the goat's favorite treats. We stop midway for a brief rest and water break before finishing our loop, hiking approximately 2.5 miles and taking about 1.5 - 2 hrs, depending on our pace. For those who are interested, your guide can tell you the rescue story of each goat, share their quirks and different personalities and answer any question you might have about goats in general (with a few terrible goat jokes/puns thrown in for good measure.) If you are looking for a unique outdoor experience that combines your love of animals, hiking and nature, this is for you! I believe outdoor activities can build personal resilience and love of nature. This is especially important in cities for urban populations. With this in mind, I founded Resilience Adventures, an organization that offers eco-focused kayak and paddleboard experiences on the beautiful Hudson River with the Manhattan Skyline as backdrop. The Manhattan Skyline Eco-Tour is a beginner-level kayak experience which includes basic instruction first and then a group (or private) kayak tour on the Hudson River. The tour travels along the Hoboken waterfront with stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline. The distance traveled depends on the skill/speed of the group. The duration of the entire experience, including instruction, is 1.5 hours after participant check-in. Note: This tour is also available as a stand-up paddleboarding experience for intermediate-level paddleboarders. Beginner paddleboarders should opt for our Learn to Paddleboard lesson instead.

For this experience we will make 10 stops in NY and NJ, starting with Quirkshop in Peekskill. Before leaving Peekskill, we will stop at Peekskill Coffee House and grab a coffee to go, so we can be ready to shop. After shopping, we will go to one of my favorite wine vineyards and as a final treat we will go to Woodbury Commons Outlets. I limit the time in each stop, please respect this. Those who do not will be warned once. The tour cost includes gas, tolls, parking fees, a small coffee from our local cafe, a glass of wine or sangria at the vineyard, and some shared appetizers and bites from the vineyards kitchen.
