The home is within the guard gated community of Monarch Beach. The bedroom is equipped with a comfy queen sized bed, down pillows, flat panel LCD TV connected to a free Netflix-like library of over 2,000 movies & TV shows, full sized private bathroom and a private entrance. We provide beach chairs, beach towels, coffee, a blow dryer, and many more amenities so you can save room in your luggage. Area attractions include a funicular to the beach, Dana Point Harbor, shops and gourmet restaurants. Laguna Beach with all it's art galleries and tourists is just up the road. You'll also be surrounded by spas, boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water sports, golf and many other amenities just minutes away. Located in South Orange County, a 1 hour drive between San Diego and Los Angeles. Disneyland is just 40 minutes away. Our beaches are rated among the top beaches in the USA! Just to be clear, you are renting a single guest room and private bath within our home and your very quiet hosts will be living here during your stay. We will allow you total privacy or we can be available to provide directions or answer any questions. In addition to the guest room, which accommodates two in a very comfortable queen sized bed, you'll have full accesses to the kitchen, living areas, outdoor patio and pool, etc. If you are traveling with a single child who could share your room, we can set up a portable crib or bring in a comfortable twin sized bed for a small extra fee. (Note: the AirBNB notation that this room accommodates 3 indicates 2 adults and 1 small child who will share your room. Please be aware; with the twin bed set up, floor space in the room is a bit tight.) We hope you'll choose our place for your beach area get-away. Located in South Orange County, our home is a 25 minute drive from Orange County Airport (SNA), 1 hour from LAX, and 1.5 hours from San Diego Airport (SAN). Safe free parking on our driveway. Public Transit: A 10 minute walk takes you to Laguna Beach and back along Coast Highway. Board the Red Route bus at the Ritz Carlton with exact change ($.75 for adults and $.30 for seniors over 65) and enjoy a tour of the commercial areas along Coast Highway and gorgeous Laguna Beach beaches. A Detailed Guest Review: My fiance and I stayed at the this home in Dana Point in July. We drove down to Dana Point from Northern California in order to attend a wedding of good friends at the nearby Monarch Beach Resort. If you are not willing to pay hefty hotel weekend rates common for the region, this private room rental is exactly what you are looking for. The Hosts C & H are the perfect examples of great Airbnb hosts. The kind, welcoming couple turned our trip to Dana Point into a very pleasant stay of which we will have the best memories for a long time to come. A day before our arrival, H reached out to us by text, confirmed our stay once more and asked us about the approximate time of our arrival in order to be on location once we’d reach Dana Point by car. Right after we rang the doorbell, C & H, appeared at the front door and welcomed us to their home. We immediately were able to connect with our hosts and had great talks about our lives: As it turned out, C’s roots go back to Bern, Switzerland, very close where my fiance and I currently are living. It’s a small world, after all. During the whole stay, both C & H were not intrusive at all and granted us our privacy. They, nevertheless, were readily available in case we had special needs and questions. For example, they let us use their refrigerator to store cheese bought at the local farmer’s market. We also were offered to use the laundry and dryer without hesitation. The Property The home is located within one of the many gated communities in Dana Point, easily accessible from major Dana Point roads through two gates with guards on duty. On our first entrance, the guard - already instructed by the hosts - handed us a pass for the whole weekend. On consecutive entries, we just presented the printout and then were let into the neighborhood. The home is located near the entrance gate, at the end of a cul-de-sac and thus the surroundings are very quiet with no traffic at all. During our stay, we were allowed to park our rental car right in front of the house. C & H showed us the separate access to our private room, which leads along the pool all the way around the house. This separate entrance allowed us not to bother the hosts when we came and went. The big terrace is protected from wind and noise by a glass fence which provides a breathtaking view of Dana Point, the sea and sunsets. We didn’t use the pool or the beach chairs, but we assume it’s great to relax at the side of your own private pool with this great view. Inside the private room, the bed is big and comfortably fits two people. Plenty of closet space is provided to stow away luggage and clothes. The bathroom is equipped one toilet, two sinks and a bathtub/shower. Water pressure from the shower-head was great, and also warm water was readily available. Plenty of fresh towels had been piled up for the two of us. Free WiFi is provided, as well as a TV with some 2000 streaming movies and TV shows provided free of charge. You get keys for both the home as well as the door for a pathway which leads you to the beach within a few minutes of walking. The hosts also have prepared a map to show you where exactly the path leads you and which turns you have to take. Within the home you'll find H’s signature decor. Her decoration style and the attention to detail makes you immediately feel at home. And we've rarely been at a cleaner home than this one. Flawless! As part of the 1st floor Villa there are always 3 patios for your enjoyment with a small ocean view. There is the front patio and seating area with a nice ocean view, the meditation garden and seating area with small ocean view and your private covered seating area replete with a chandelier at the front entrance. (From mid-September through mid June there is often the upper veranda available for your use. There are more White water ocean views from the veranda. This is the stone veranda pictured in the cover page and it is not available typically mid June through August- Please enquire if it is available). Spacious 1st floor apartment home for your most welcomed and quality stay. We are 3 blocks to the famous Main Beach and tower, and 1 block away from our downtown Village. From your bed, you hear the waves crashing, and seals barking if they are in the cove. We just completed the complete remodel in 2016. There is an all new full bathroom with granite counter tops, luxury style towels, a large walk-in closet. A complete new kitchen with stainless steel appliances and fully equipped for your stay. There is a dining area, HD TV and high speed internet/WIFI. Beautiful reflective artwork and new furniture is placed throughout the interior. The space includes a very private, covered patio with chandelier, along with private reserved parking 5 steps from your entry. There is en suite air conditioning and heat. The walk-in closet doubles as a small nursery- there is a window to outdoors in the walk-in. Fits our twin rollaway bed or our pack'n'play -both available for you. All areas Will usually interact with our guests daily as they have questions or want to communicate with us. It is a great pleasure hosting our guests and we are sure to be responsive and helpful in anyway we can. We do not however intrude on their privacy. We are available for them whenever they need us. We live in the second level unit so we are always able to satisfy any request immediately. We have played tour guide, trip planner, and similar roles for many guests. We just offer our assistance based on their needs. The villa is set in the picturesque community of Laguna Beach, a 7 minute walk to the beach. Downtown is a 4 minute walk away w/ restaurants, cafes, shops, & nightlife spots. Olympic & Children’s community pool & tennis complex are around the corner Everything in Laguna Beach is walkable from The Villa from grocery stores to restaurants to the beach to clubs. Public transportation is also ample nearby. If you didn't want to walk to the grocery store for example, the override would cost approximately five dollars. One block up from us is the local aquatic center with an Olympic size pool and Childrens pool along with a new 5 Star Tennis Court facility all available for our guests use. One block down from us is the Laguna Beach community center where approximately 150 activities or classes –every activity from art classes to meditation, ballet to martial arts, yoga and continuing education are all available for our guests.

It is a quiet, residential neighborhood, so party people should look elsewhere.

We are located on the Balboa Peninsula and are one block away from a tranquil beach marina where you can paddle board and watch boats go by. On the other side, we are two blocks away from the Balboa Beach and the Pier where you can surf, play in the waves, walk the shops and frequent the restaurants. Our townhouse is perfect for large families and groups. The kitchen and family room are on the third floor with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the 2nd floor.
