Each cabin is thoughtfully positioned with generous distance between them, giving every guest a sense of seclusion, quiet, and privacy while still enjoying the feeling of a unified space.

One of the most unique stays available in the Blue Mountains with beautiful views into the Megalong Valley and escarpment. Little Black Cabin is an award-winning getaway in the charming town of Blackheath. The 120 year old cottage was salvaged, restored and transformed by Smith Architects into a luxurious and highly detailed architectural cabin. Leave your car behind while you stay. Wander through the bush trails from the backyard or walk to Blackheath's cafes, pubs, train and art galleries.

"Koonje" Megalong View Cottage Blackheath

Koonje is a charming cottage in a spectacular location with stunning views of the Megalong and Kanimbla Valleys. The cottage is a comfy escape for family and friends. Recently renovated with new bathrooms and kitchen, central heating and well insulated making it cosy in winter and cool in summer. As it is not a large house max 5 adults plus children please, no large groups of adults. It's a fabulous location only a ten-minute walk to Blackheath town centre and Blackheath train station.

ACCESS VIA BLACKHEATH: Amazing views of Blue Mountains cliffs & farmland from one of two architect designed eco friendly cabins on our property. 250 acres with opportunities to walk and horse ride (adjoining property). Now with outdoor firepit We choose not to provide free WiFi or even have general TV reception.... you can choose to unplug from the world (still 4G phone reception). Experience beauty, calm and peace in this beautifully styled, luxurious cottage for two adults. Unwind in front of the crackling wood fire with a glass of wine or a hot cuppa. Relax in the soaker bath and fall asleep at night in the luxurious King sized bed with its snowy white linen. Wake up to spectacular mountain and valley views while you enjoy your breakfast while gazing out of huge picture windows. Accessible by car and the nearby Medlow Bath train station (a 15 minute stroll), the home is within walking distance of the famous Hydro Majestic Hotel and Potbelly Cafe. It's less than 15 minutes drive to Leura and Blackheath. Despite its proximity to these historic townships and landmarks it remains a secluded sanctuary.

The original settlers cottage has been renovated & is rustic yet very comfortable. Just 15 minutes from Blackheath, (and only accessible from Blackheath) the cottage is totally self contained, with a wood stove and BBQ facilities. A unique rural escape for nature lovers.
