This beautiful and spacious villa is away from the hustle and bustle of Shela, in the peaceful sand dunes behind the village. The beach/village are a 10 min walk away down a sandy lane. There are 5 stylish bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (sleeping 10 guests), 3 kitchens with indoor/ outdoor living and relaxation spaces, a huge roof terrace perfect for star gazing as well as a plunge pool to cool down. Our lovely staff keep the house immaculate & will handle your laundry. There's fast wifi too!

The romantic upper terrace is shared and looks over the roof tops of Shela to the sea and there are two girls who clean everyday and will do laundry which is included. In 2012 the award-winning architect Urku Sanchez transformed a dilapidated ruin into this elegant structure. The renovations were carried out with sensitivity to the Swahili architecture and Islamic culture of Lamu. With four spacious ensuite bedrooms and various sitting areas, the house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 adults and is ideal for families or groups of friends.

A rustic beach house, Robinson Crusoe style. At the southern tip of Lamu Island, the house faces the Indian Ocean as it rolls in along a great stretch of empty beach. An absolutely perfect place for simply doing nothing, one can nevertheless also lie on the beach, float out to sea or take long walks across the island. Lamu, centuries old, and the most ancient Swahili settlement on the East African coast, is just a 30 minute boat ride away.
