A cosy cedar chalet on peaceful land to the rear of Owhango village overlooking Tongariro forest. Sleeps up to 6. Only 25 mins to ski fields; 15 mins to Tongariro crossing bus shuttle at National Park village. Nearby Ohinetonga reserve is famed for trout fishing, rare whio whio blue ducks, swim holes and the renowned 42nd Traverse bike and running track. Also directly on Te Araroa long distance trail. 15 mins to Taumaranui town. Owhango has a delish cafe too! Pricing is for up to 4 persons.

Soothing Riverside Cabin, Taumarunui

No cleaning fee, minimum 2 night stay. Cabin is a bedroom only, toilet, shower and kitchen located separately a few metres away. You are on the tip of a peninsula in the Whanganui River. Lie in bed and watch the fish rise in the morning, sit around the fire in the evening enjoying the peace and quiet after a swim. Mountains are 40 mins away, kayaking tours 10 mins away and Taumarunui is 12km. Please don't bring water, free, safe water is provided. Limiting plastic is much appreciated.

The Tree House is set on a small hill in the tree tops, requiring being able to climb multiple steps for access through the bush. At the top you receive stunning views of the surrounding forest. This eco house generates its own electricity and is designed to capture the sun. It is a great base to do the Tongariro Crossing from.
