An introduction to Wellington
Each tour explores a wide variety of locations that Wellington has to offer, small adjustments may be made to suit the particular interests of each group or individual. Tours take approximately 3 hours Each tour will begin at the Wellington train station then onto the government precinct, older residential areas, the botanical gardens which will explore exotic and native bush as well as panoramic views, then the cafe and entertainment scene, the waterfront, some archeological sites, and finally Wellington’s main shopping street, 'The Golden Mile’. Though this may sound like a lot to fit in, Wellington is a uniquely compact city. The only way to experience it is by foot.
Discover Wellington's Bays by eBike
Explore Wellington's beautiful coastlines, boost up to stunning viewpoints, and grab a coffee at Wellington's quirkiest seaside cafe - all powered by an electric bike! You'll be welcomed by Kali, Jack or Denny at Switched on Bikes HQ (a converted shipping container on Wellington's waterfront), where you can store your bags and grab a helmet. We will give you a quick lesson on how to use our eBikes (don't worry - they're easy!) and we'll practice riding around in a car-free area before taking off. We'll cruise along Wellington's waterfront to our local beach, when sunbathers gather in summer. Then we're off around the coast to Evan's Bay to check out some wind sculptures then we hop on to one of Wellington's most scenic coastal roads before turning the bikes up to turbo and gliding up to one of Wellington's best look outs where you can get panoramic photos of Wellington and it's surrounding bays. Depending upon the season we stop for locally made ice-cream, tea or coffee which is included in the price of the tour. We end back where we started 3-4 hours later, right in the heart of the city. We'll give you some tips on our favorite spots around town for you to continue your adventure! Other things to note: You should be comfortable riding a bike on the road. We'll use a mix of shared paths, on-road cycle lanes and regular roads. Thanks!

Sheep Farm Tour & Woolly Farm-Hat Gift
When you arrive on our beautiful farm and meet our friendly, naturally coloured Corriedale sheep & lambs. Followed by an explanation of how wool is shorn from the sheep, skirted, washed & dried. Next, guests will select their choice of wool, alpaca, lama and other fibres to card into large batts of fibre that are ready to process by spinning them into wool. After a spinning demonstration, guests will be able to practise spinning the fibre into their own ball of wool to take with them. If time allows they can try knitting or weaving and have a short walk around the farm to meet the other animals. This experience is suitable for beginners with no previous experience needed. Children can attend, just advise the age of the child, as I'll organise a child friendly wool activity for them. I'd like to make sure you have a fun, relaxing & unique experience that you will always remember. The scenery is spectacular and I am happy to take photos of you around the farm and with the animals. You can even select your own farm made hat as a free souvenir. Each hat is handcrafted, organically processed and shorn from our own sheeps wool, hand made and over 20 hours of work in each one. Come and learn how your hat was crafted - eco -slow fashion just for you.
Alpacas Off Grid - farm tour & alpaca experience

During our walk it's guaranteed you'll also meet our ducks, chickens & our Tibetan Spaniel. 40-60 minutes. We’re happy to show guests how we survive living completely off grid (in comfort) without any access to town water or mains electricity. This will include a short, picturesque walk through pristine native bush, a tour of our vegetable garden & orchard plus an alpaca fleece spinning demonstration. A tour of our unique accommodation options (including a 1952 Bedford house truck) will be available depending on occupancy. We'll also be glad to detail our blueprint to biodiversity which prevents us needing to use harmful chemicals or heavy machinery. 20-40 minutes. Other things to note: Phone reception can be patchy near us due to the hills so it's best to read directions carefully. 'Spark/Skinny' customers are usually fine.
