Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Taylors Alpine Retreat is an exclusive 245 square metre home boasting 4 bedrooms (3 with queen beds plus a bunk room sleeping 4). There is a huge 8-person spa plus a pool table and table tennis in the games room. The main lounge has seating for 10 people. There is a washer and dryer, drying room, 2 toilets, a bath and 2 showers. Just 2 minutes drive from Ohakune junction this beautiful home feels like a country getaway but is so conveniently located, just 20 minutes drive to Turoa ski field.

Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro provides excellent value for money, offering ample space for families (children over 2 years old) or small groups of friends. A snug retreat during winter, thanks to a very efficient wood-burner (there is no heat pump). The spacious couch is perfect for unwinding, while the well-equipped kitchen, resembling that of a caterer’s, includes an espresso machine and opens out onto a charming patio area with a barbecue, herb garden, and stunning vistas.
